The Kingsman 2 details reveal official title, new concept art

One of 2015’s best films, Kingsman: The Secret Service, is getting the sequel it rightly deserves, and director Matthew Vaughn has finally revealed some details about what to expect.

For one, the upcoming film has officially been titled Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which suggests to us that we’re going to be introduced to some kind of elite group of super spies—either that or it refers to a nefarious terrorist organization. Either way, Vaughn declined to expand on what the movie’s title means.

We can, however, extract some details out of concept art included with the story, via Empire Magazine. For one, the headquarters of the Kingsman has been completely destroyed, so someone clearly has it out for them. Meanwhile, there’s a separate headquarters known as The Statesman, which, as you may have guessed, is located in the U.S.

We also get a nice look at the Kingsman cab doubling as a submarine (of course), along with Poppyland, the hideout of Julianne Moore’s villain. It looks like it’s located in the Amazon and that sign is brilliantly retro.

Finally, Vaughn briefly discussed how he plans to top that church scene from the first film (a scene that wound up being one of our favorite moments from last year).

“You try not to read what people want, but they do want another church sequence,” Vaughn said. “I have no reason for another massacre to happen. But I have other sequences you’ve never seen before.”

These sequences will apparently involve skiing, a barroom, robot dogs, one-armed henchmen and a frankfurter.

The plot and larger details are still under wraps, and the jury’s still out on whether or not Colin Firth’s character, Harry Hart, will return for the sequel. Guess we’ll find out as we get closer to the movie’s June 16, 2017, release.
