The new season of Game of Thrones is almost upon us and a new clip has been revealed. The video, shared by actor Lian Cunningham on last night’s episode of Conan, shows Davos Seaworth drawing Jon Snow’s sword from its sheathe—but why?
You should avoid reading on if you don’t want last season to be spoiled.
In the trailer released by HBO for the show’s upcoming season, it was made to seem as if Davos was preparing to fight off a group of the Night’s Watch in an effort to protect Jon Snow’s dead body. That was only half-right.
Turns out, he was preparing to protect Jon Snow’s lifeless body from Alliser Thorne and his buddies, who are actually outside of the room Jon Snow’s body is being kept. Why is Thorne and his goons trying to get their hands on the body? Maybe so he doesn’t turn into a White Walker? We’ll get that answer when the show’s upcoming season premieres on April 24.
Rumor has it Jon Snow, who was killed by his Night’s Watch brothers at the end of last season, will be resurrected by Melisandre, who conveniently arrived at the Wall at the end of season 5.
Check out the clip above (the good part happens at 1:49 in).
