Hanna-Barbera cinematic universe starts with Scooby-Doo reboot

Looks like moviegoers will soon have a whole new cinematic universe to explore on the big screen. According to ComicBook, Warner Bros. Animation is exploring the idea of branching out from a 2018 Scooby Doo reboot, dubbed S.C.O.O.B, and starting a whole series of fresh takes on classic cartoons, essentially “unlocking the whole Hanna-Barbera Universe.”

Hanna-Barbera Productions was started in 1957 and closed up shop 15 years ago in 2001 when it was consumed into Time Warner. There are plenty of properties to explore in the universe, including themes from The FlintstonesThe Tom and Jerry Show, Yogi Bear, The Jetsons, The Smurfs and more. It’s unlikely that each will receive a separate, standalone movie, but reboots are certainly becoming a major theme in Hollywood.

No word on what’s next after S.C.O.O.B, we’ll let you know if that changes.
