Last year, early reports began swirling about the plot of Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie, and now that we know he’s already onboard to direct, write, and star, more rumors about the project are popping up. And, let me tell you, this one is a doozy. If you played the Arkham games from Rocksteady, you’re going to like this.

According to BirthMoviesDeath, the Batman film will allegedly feature “many, if not most, members of Batman’s rogue’s gallery,” which means the movie is going to be crammed with all of your favorite villains. “Every major bad guy you’ve ever wanted to see in a [Batman] movie will be in this movie,” the site said, citing anonymous sources.

According to my sources Affleck and Geoff Johns, who has been working with [Affleck] on the film, want to make the definitive Batman film. They want to tell the ultimate Batman story, and to do so they’re going to bring in all the big guns. They’re going to have a big, sprawling Bat universe already in place.

Now, I mentioned the Arkham games because it sounds like the movie could potentially follow the storyline of Arkham Asylum, which saw players trapped inside the psychiatric hospital where many of Batman’s most famous enemies were incarcerated. Among them, of course, is Joker, who is actually the one who orchestrates the plot to seize control of Arkham Asylum.

If true, we could potentially see characters such as Joker, Harley Quinn, Bane, Victor Zsasz, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, and even the Riddler, among others. Chances are not all of these foes will play a major role; BirthMoviesDeath speculates a lot of these characters will simply make cameo appearances.

In any case, it doesn’t appear Affleck’s Batman movie will follow the Under the Red Hood storyline, which would have seen a dead Jason Todd, who was Robin for a short period, return for vengeance against Batman. The report rightly points out Affleck and Johns want to avoid that storyline because it is too close to Marvel’s Winter Soldier.

With Suicide Squad coming out this August, who knows, maybe we’ll see these characters pop up again when the Batman movie hits.
