House names of American version of Hogwarts “Ilvermorny” revealed

What house was your favorite at Hogwarts? Was it Godric Gryffindor or Helga Hufflepuff? Perhaps it was Rowena Ravenclaw or the evil Salazar Slytherin. Whichever one you call home, you might want to consider moving because there are new homes coming to the Harry Potter universe.

When Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits theaters this November, audiences will be introduced to the American version of Hogwarts, called Ilvermorny, and the four different houses therein. According to code found on the official Harry Potter website, the previously unannounced names have been revealed: Horned Serpent, Wampus, Thunderbird, and Pukwudgie.

The names haven’t been officially announced, so don’t sort yourself into a house just yet. As io9 points out, three of the four house names are all from various Native American myth, culture and folklore, which is already sparking a debate among some commenters.

We’re still months away from the movie’s release, but I’m sure we’ll hear more soon, especially with references to the names hiding in the website’s code. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 18, 2016.
