Leave it to a reasonably budgeted horror film to win the weekend.
1. The Conjuring 2
The Conjuring 2 has an excellent opening weekend taking in $40.35M in the U.S. and globally already stands at $90M globally off of a $40M budget.
2. Warcraft
Warcraft had a mixed opening weekend. In the U.S. it opened to a fairly soft $24.35M, but thanks to its massive foreign wins – especially in China – the film already stands at $286.1M globally off of a $160M budget.
3. Now You See Me 2
Now You See Me 2 opened to $23M, about $6M less than the originals haul in 2013. The budget was increased this time to between $90 and $100M
4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of The Shadows
The Turtles took a mighty tumble in their second week, falling 58.1 percent to take in $14.8M and land in fourth place. The film now stands at $61M domestically and $116.33M globally off of a $135M budget.
5. X-Men: Apocalypse
X-Men: Apocalypse landed in fifth place with $10M to now stand at $136.37M in the U.S. and $478.48M globally off of a $178M budget.
