Twitter on Thursday introduced a small update to its Twitter #music app for iPhone, making it even easier to explore different genres.
In addition to discovering new music through Popular and Emerging categories, the update adds the ability to explore based on specific music genres, stuff like hip hop, rock, and country, or whatever you’re looking for. There are also new charts, including Superstars, Unearthed and Hunted—Unearthed apparently focuses on hidden talent people are tweeting about, while Hunted focuses on what’s popular around the blogosphere. We Are Hunted was originally a music discovery service that was acquired by Twitter before it launched #music, so we’re glad to see it still has a big role.
The new categories can be found under the Charts/Genres navigation screen, which can be accessed toward the top of the app.
