Something that’s been obvious from the start is how fun and colorful Suicide Squad looks compared to the drab and dreary Batman v Superman. Nowhere is that more apparent than in the movie’s marketing, which continues to release some amazing posters. Now, Warner Bros. has released several new posters for the film, and they’re absolutely fantastic.
It’s like Suicide Squad actually has a personality compared to the more stoic, stern approach of Batman v Superman, which was muted and intensely serious. For all its flaws, I actually enjoyed Batman v Superman quite a bit, but based on the posters for Suicide Squad, I’m more looking forward to seeing Task Force X dole out some hurtin’ on whatever threat they go up against.
Whoever at Warner Bros. is behind these posters, bravo. They exude character and are a welcome departure from what we’ve seen in the DC Cinematic Universe thus far. It’s not just the posters but the numerous trailers and TV spots, too. The characters are wild, unpredictable, and exhibit unique traits that make them, above all else, fun as hell to watch.
We still don’t know if Suicide Squad is any good or not. But I wouldn’t mind putting these posters up my wall, neon colors and all. Above are two new posters (the cereal and mushroom cloud) along with individual character posters. Additionally, we’ve included other Suicide Squad posters that were released earlier this year.
Suicide Squad hits theaters on Aug. 5.
