Tom Holland’s Spider-Man stole the show when he made is Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: Civil War, and he apparently stole the show again at Comic-Con this past weekend. While no official footage from Spider-Man: Homecoming has been released online, Marvel showed off some early clips of the movie to an audience inside Comic-Con’s famed Hall H and it sounds like it went over quite well.

For those of us who couldn’t make it into Hall H, we have second-hand accounts and official concept art (above) to tide us over.

The concept art, by artist Ryan Meinerding, finally confirms Vulture will be the movie’s main villain. Vulture’s costume looks wonderfully mechanical and modular, and those talons are looking pretty deadly, too. Marvel didn’t confirm who will play the baddie but we’ve been hearing Michael Keaton is all but signed on to play the part.

Along with the art, Marvel shared a small synopsis for Homecoming:

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Marvel Studios’ “Captain America: Civil War,” begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

As for the footage, io9 described what was shown off as “John Hughes meets Freaks and Geeks,” which sounds like the best movie ever. I’d watch that even if it had nothing to do with superheroes.

Filming for Spider-Man: Homecoming is currently underway—you can see some set images here—with a release set for July 7, 2017.
