Look who’s back, back again. Loki’s back, tell a friend. The infamous but lovable villain will make his long-awaited return to the Marvel universe when Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters late next year.
Tom Hiddleston posted a picture to his Instagram account on Tuesday showing him in full Loki getup, complete with a not so ambiguous comment of, “He’s back!”
It’s been three years since we last saw Loki appear in a Marvel movie, so his return is certainly overdue. Last we saw, he had disguised himself as Odin, sitting on the throne as king of Asgard. After that, nothing. Hiddleston apparently filmed a scene for Avengers: Age of Ultron but it was ultimately cut.
By the time he returns to the big screen, there will have been a whopping eight movies since his last appearance. Considering how large of a role he played leading up to and directly after the first Avengers movie, it’s a little odd we haven’t seen him for so long. Let’s hope his return was worth the wait
Thor: Ragnarok is set for a Nov. 3, 2017 release.
