Spider-Man is just hanging around in the first poster for his upcoming standalone movie. It almost reminds me of that awesome selfie Tom Holland shared from the set a few weeks back. Man, it’s pretty much impossible not to love him as a younger Peter Parker.
The poster you see below is reportedly making the rounds at the Magic Las Vegas trade show, which seems like an odd place for it to show up. Because this is a picture of the supposed poster, we’re not considering this to be 100 percent official. But, I mean, it perfectly captures the spirit of Peter Parker’s goofball personality, so even if it’s not something Marvel made, it’s still great.
We’ve already seen plenty of detailed pictures of Holland’s Spider-Man suit, so this poster doesn’t really tell us much; it’s more about the idea and emotion it evokes. The stitching, the shiny web-shooters, and the menacing eyes are all there. The only thing the poster is missing is some type of slogan. “Just another service provided by your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.” Yeah, I think that’ll work.
Now, with less than a year to go before Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters—July 7, 2017—we just need some kind of teaser trailer. Maybe there will be something attached to Doctor Strange?
