Netflix adds new meaning to the phrase “Netflix and chill” with “slow TV” content

Sometimes, all you want to do is just sit on the couch and completely space out. Netflix has a ton of new content that makes doing that easier than ever.

First noticed by Kottke, the streaming service has quietly added a number of “slow tv” shows that are, well, nothing at all. Simply put, the videos are ordinary events from start to finish. Here’s the list of videos that Netflix recently added:

  • National Firewood Evening
  • National Firewood Morning
  • National Firewood Night
  • National Knitting Evening
  • National Knitting Morning
  • National Knitting Night
  • Northern Passage
  • Northern Railway
  • Salmon Fishing
  • The Telemark Canal
  • Train Ride Bergen to Oslo

Not the most captivating entertainment, I’ll give you that, but certainly relaxing. Apparently, this type of content is all the rage in Norway—the video above has apparently been seen by 20 percent of the country’s population. If you’re the type of person who likes to put on ambient noise when they work (Noisli is a good option), then why not put on a video, too?

According to Kottke, some of the shows aren’t the complete versions that originally aired, but they should still be more than enough to relax you after a long day.
