Dyson USA recently posted a video demonstrating all the rigors associated with developing and testing a new Dyson vacuum cleaner, specifically the Dyson DC41. Honestly I knew a lot of work went in to developing new products, but I was surprised to see it took 5,000 prototypes to get a product to market.
The clip plays out more like a car demo/crash test video, complete with performance tests, filtration demos, maneuverability, and durability tests, including a crash test that shows weights bludgeoning and destroying different machines.
Dyson claims it took three years to develop the DC41 and is built to last 10 years. If you’re a Dyson DC41 owner good for you. The DC41 seems to pick up everything and makes me feel bad about my vacuum. Now, if you will excuse me I need to go replace my vacuum cleaner.
