We knew Logan would be a shell of his former self, and this portrait hammers that point home. He’s been through a lot and that’s quite apparent by the condition of his face. It also doesn’t help that he’s using alcohol as a way to mask his pain.
Earlier this month, we got a glimpse of the movie’s script, which revealed all we need to know about Logan’s current state:
As for our hero, well, he’s older now and it’s clear his abilities aren’t what they once were. He’s fading on the inside and his diminished healing factor keeps him in a constant state of chronic pain—hence booze as a painkiller.
There will be blood
Apparently, Logan will be loosely based on the “Old Man Logan” storyline, and be a much more violent movie than we’re used to. The script alludes to that as well:
In this flick, people will get hurt or killed when shit falls on them. They will get just as hurt or just as killed if they get hit with something big and heavy like, say, a car. Should anyone in our story have the misfortune to fall off a roof or out a window, they won’t bounce. They will die.
