After resisting offline playback for years, Netflix on Wednesday finally added the option. And just in time for the holidays, too. This is a feature that has been available on competing platforms for a while now, so it’s about time Netflix caught up.
Unfortunately, the service’s entire catalog isn’t available to download. Fans hoping to take Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life on the go won’t be able to do so—at least not yet. However, shows such as Stranger Things, Orange is the New Black, and Master of None can watch these originals on an airplane (or wherever internet isn’t readily available).
While there isn’t a master list of content available for download, Netflix makes it pretty easy to see what you can watch offline. Simply open your app, tap on the hamburger icon, and click on the “Available for Download” section. Here you’ll see everything from “Recently Added” to “New Releases,” along with other content based on your viewing habits.
Below is a list of some of the best movies and TV shows you can take offline. If there’s a show or movie we neglected to mention, let us know in the comments down below.
