People are still trying to forget about the time a mouthless Deadpool appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds redeemed himself in last year’s Deadpool, but he wants to do one better. According to the actor, he’s very open to the possibility of a Deadpool/Wolverine movie, it just comes down to whether or not Hugh Jackman would want to do it.
In a longer interview with Variety, Reynolds revealed he and Fox have come up with several ideas for future Deadpool films, even beyond the upcoming sequel. One such idea just so happens to be a Deadpool/Wolverine film.
“I would love to play Deadpool for as long as they would let me play Deadpool,” Reynolds said. “We have outlines and stories for a number of different films.”
Reynolds goes on to admit that getting Jackman to change his mind about retiring his Wolverine character will be tough. Jackman has expressed his desire to walk away from Wolverine before signing up for Logan, so there’s certainly the possibility his mind can be changed again, especially with Reynolds involved.
“I’m hesitating,” Jackman said about a possible film with Deadpool,” because I could totally see how that’s the perfect fit. But the timing may be wrong.”

That’s not exactly a “no” from Jackman
Recently, a rumor claimed Reynolds filmed a Deadpool cameo for Jackman’s Logan, which was swiftly shot down by the two actors. Whether he does make an appearance or not is still unclear. But I’m pretty sure nobody would be opposed to the idea.
Going beyond that, I don’t think anybody would be opposed to seeing Deadpool and Wolverine in a buddy film. Besides Logan and the upcoming Deadpool sequel, what else does Fox have planned? Let’s hope it involves the two characters coming together in one epic movie.
