When the first teaser for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales hit, it purposely left out Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow, instead opting to introduce Javier Bardem’s Capitán Salazar. The latest trailer shows plenty of Salazar, but it also marks the return of Jack Sparrow, too.
Here’s the movie’s official synopsis:
Captain Jack Sparrow is pursued by an old rival, Capitan Salazar, who along with his crew of ghost pirates has escaped from the Devil’s Triangle, and is determined to kill every pirate at sea. Jack steals the Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that grants its possessor total control over the sea, in order to defeat Salazar.
Many of the franchise’s biggest characters are back, including Hector Barbosa (Geoffrey Rush) and Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), the latter of whom looks worse for the wear.
