Thor: Ragnarok concept art shows Gladiator Hulk fighting Thor

Holy Hela. In the digital release of Doctor Strange, out today, Marvel has included concept art for Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther. And, wow, both are looking incredible.

Granted, these images are simply concept art, not actual pictures from the movies. But they could indicate the tone and style these films are going for. I don’t think anyone will complain about seeing Black Panther prowl around Wakanda, which looks mighty impressive.

The other images give us a tiny glimpse at Thor: Ragnarok, including Hela, who will be played by Cate Blanchett. If she looks anything like how she does in the concept art, she may actually be a great Marvel villain, which the MCU has been sorely lacking.

Planet Hulk

As so many previous reports have teased, we’re going to see Thor take on Hulk in a gladiator match, something fans have been waiting to see since the two characters fought in The Avengers. As you can see, Thor isn’t wearing his familiar superhero garb, possibly indicating he’s been cast out of Asgard (again).

As a refresher, here’s the plot synopsis for Thor: Ragnarok:

In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his home world and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the incredible Hulk!

Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to come out on November 3 of this year, while Black Panther is set for a release on February 16, 2018.
