Staying within Amazon’s ecosystem certainly is the easiest and quickest way to read ebooks on your Kindle. But buying a Kindle doesn’t limit you to only Kindle Store books. In fact Amazon spells out directions on how to navigate sites like Archive.org (2.5 million free ebooks), Open Library (1 million free ebooks), Project Gutenberg (30,000+ free ebooks), or ManyBooks.net (25,000+ free ebooks). With a little extra effort you can expand your free ebook library. Ultimately it is a process of searching and sending the ebook to your Kindle.
