Do you consider yourself a die-hard Power Rangers fan? Or perhaps you want to know why the franchise has such a fervent following? You’re in luck, because Twitch this week announced plans to stream 23 seasons of the show, from Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers to Power Rangers Dino Supercharge. Now’s your chance to take off work and tell your boss, “It’s Morphin’ Time!”
Twitch says it’ll begin streaming on March 14 at 11 a.m. PDT and end with episode 831 on March 30. There’s binge-watching, and then there’s this. Anyone who manages to watch all 831 of them (not recommended) should become an honorary Power Ranger and get a cameo in the next movie.
The whole point of the stream is to promote a new Twitch channel called Twitch Presents, which is a “destination for marathon content and special screenings.”
And, because this is Twitch, the service said subscribers of the channel will get access to special emotes, including Rita Repulsa. Additionally, Twitch will allow users to co-stream the marathon, a feature that allows any user to syndicate another channel’s livestream.
Go, go Power Rangers!
I watched more than my fair share of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers when it first started airing in the states back in the mid ‘90s. And although I’ve outgrown my love for all things Megazord, I still might tune in to catch a few episodes.
“Recruit a team of teenagers with attitude!” Ah, the memories.
