The Empire is rising in a new video shared by Disney Parks.
To celebrate construction of its Star Wars-themed lands at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts, the video gives fans a look at how things are progressing. While the AT-AT skeletons don’t look like much now, just wait until you see the finished product. You’ll be fighting a galactic war in no time.
As part of its Star Wars-themed lands, Disney will transport visitors to a never-before-seen planet, where guests can embed themselves in the Star Wars universe. As part of the experience, Disney is creating two signature attractions, from a battle between the First Order and Resistance to a ride aboard the Millennium Falcon.
While construction is quickly coming along, Disney said its Star Wars-themed lands won’t open until 2019, so there’s still a long way to go. Incidentally, that’s also the year Star Wars: Episode IX is supposed to hit theaters.

Each Star Wars-themed land will feature 14 acres dedicated to the franchise, using props, locales, and attractions familiar to fans. If you’ve ever wanted to visit a Star Wars movie set, Disney’s new lands will be the next best thing.
While it’ll be a few years until these attractions open, fans can visit Disney California Adventure in May to experience the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride.
