The Avengers may be busy fighting killer robots in some far off country, but who will protect New York from Sigourney Weaver and ninjas?
Set a few months after the close Daredevil season 2, and one month after the final episode of Iron Fist, The Defenders will see all four of the Netflix heroes teaming up to take on Alexandra (Weaver) and the Hand. Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand (Finn Jones) won’t be alone, however, as many of their friends will be there to support them.

- Malcolm Ducasse (Eka Darville) from Jessica Jones
- Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss) from Jessica Jones
- Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) from Jessica Jones
- Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) from Iron Fist
- Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) from all the previous shows
Elektra (Elodie Yung) will also appear, but it appears she may not be in a helping mood judging by the trailer.
Color us super intrigued to find out just who – or what – Alexandra is.
The Defenders will premiere on Netflix on Aug. 18.
