When Game of Thrones concludes with its eighth season, HBO plans to introduce multiple spinoffs of the beloved franchise.

According to Variety, and confirmed by an HBO spokesperson, as many as four different projects are in development, though it’s unclear how many will get made. The premium cable channel has tapped four writers—Max Borenstein (Kong: Skull Island), Jane Goldman (Kingsman: The Golden Circle), Brian Helgeland (Legend), and Carly Wray (Mad Men)—to start writing potential spinoffs.

HBO hasn’t set a timeline for these projects, saying it’s content to take its time.

“We’ll take as much or as little time as the writers need and, as with all our development, we will evaluate what we have when the scripts are in,” an HBO spokesperson said.

HBO hasn’t indicated where it plans to go with these spinoffs, though there’s certainly been no shortage of speculation. Executives at HBO previously expressed interest in possible spinoff opportunities, saying they’d only do it if it made sense creatively.

Considering how massively popular the franchise has become, it makes financial sense, too. Whether it’ll include any of the current cast remains to be seen.

With season seven on the horizon, the show’s conclusion is quickly coming to a close. But when one door closes, another opens, as they say. Once more details about these spinoffs become available, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Games of Thrones season 7 will premiere on July 16.
