With its July premiere date on the horizon, HBO has finally released the first official trailer for season 7 of Game of Thrones. As you’d expect, it’s suitably epic, featuring massive battles, an angry Cersei, and dragons the size of commercial airplanes.
As the trailer begins, Cersei seemingly knows full well threats are coming from all directions.
“Whatever stands in our way, we will defeat it,” Cersei says with a sinister and cold tone.
HBO appears to be dropping several hints at what’s to come in the upcoming season, which is said to move at a brisker pace than previous seasons.
After all, season 7 will only feature seven episodes, rather than the customary 10 fans are used to. As a result, expect plenty to happen in a short period of time.
Once we have a better look at what’s going on we’ll provide a full breakdown of all the important moments. I can tell you one thing: Jaime Lannister does not look happy to be by his sister’s side, which may or may not indicate a fan favorite theory will come to pass.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO on July 16.
