Chromebooks often come with a number of “goodies” (re: free offers) just for buying the device. Asus’s most recent Chromebox, for example, offers users 100GB of Google Drive storage for two whole years. The latest offer, via Google+, allows new customers who purchase a Chromebook to get 60 days free of All Access music streaming. The service is normally $9.99 per month.
Sixty-days is plenty of time to get acquainted with Google’s streaming service, which gives users ad-free access to over 20 million songs. Less of a Pandora competitor, All Access takes on the Spotify model—and does a pretty terrific job in the process—letting users create radio stations, thumbs up lists and more with no skip limits. If anything, you can sign up for the free trial, test the waters, and cancel just before the trial is up. Don’t pay a dime, but get a quick taste of a great service.
Of course, the purpose of a trial is to hook users, and sixty days is more than enough time to fall in love with Google’s platform. (I’ve been using it since it came out.) The offer is intended for users that haven’t yet signed up for an All Access trial, so if you did in the past, unfortunately you can’t participate. In addition to the Chromebook offer, Google is inviting Google users to sign up for the 60-day free trial—TechnoBuffalo’s own Todd Haselton got an email about it.
The offer appears as though it’s good until Monday, March 17, so you have exactly a week to take advantage. If you don’t cancel the service before the trial is up, Google says you’ll automatically be billed for a month’s worth of All Access.
