It worked for Voltron, so Netflix is giving yet another anime series a revamp for the modern age. The classic 80s anime show Saint Seiya has been tapped for an up-to-date remake that will hopefully resemble the show you thought you saw as a kid, not the show you actually saw.
The original show aired from 1986 to 1989 in Japan, but it’s one of those nostalgic anime series like Gundam and Dragon Ball that has spawned countless mini-series, movies, video games, and spin-offs over the years. It follows the adventures of a young man named Seiya who defends Earth under the employment of the Greek goddess Athena.
This newest adaptation, titled Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya, will retell the original story arcs at a blistering pace, cramming the original four story arcs into 12-half hour episodes.
