The Killing solo shot

Netflix’s resurrection of popular murder-mystery show The Killing will make its return on Aug. 1, 2014. The streaming service on Thursday announced the revival will set free the final six episodes in one lump sum, meaning you can binge watch the conclusion at your leisure—or you can go at a more measured pace. Your choice.

The show was initially canceled by AMC back in 2012 after just two seasons, but it was revived in a three part deal between Fox Television, Netflix and AMC. After a 12-episode third season aired, the show was again canceled by AMC, only to be revived yet again by Netflix for a fourth season, which will consist of the final six episodes. The first three seasons of the show are already available through Netflix, so you can get caught up on the show before the Aug. 1 airing.

Veena Sud is being brought back as showrunner, while Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman are also reprising their roles as Seattle-based detectives. The Killing has endured a pretty rocky existence since debuting in 2011, but it’ll finally come to its full conclusion in just a few months.
