Samsung to Discuss “Future of Health” On May 28

We already know that Samsung is holding a new health-focused press conference in San Francisco on May 28, but today the company teased the event yet again. In an email received by TechnoBuffalo, Samsung says the event will focus on the “Voice of the Body” and that “a new conversation around the future of health is about to begin.”

Samsung has already confirmed that there won’t be any products unveiled during the press conference, and instead it will be an event discussing the company’s efforts in the health space in general. The Galaxy S5 runs S Health 3.0 and has a heart rate sensor, while its new line of wearables, including the Gear 2 Neo, Gear 2 and Gear Fit, also put a focus on health monitoring.

It’s possible Samsung will discuss new applications for these devices, though it seems too soon for that. In a report from Re/Code earlier this month we learned that Samsung may discuss its new digital health lab, so it’s probably more forward-looking. After all, that’s what “the future of health” implies.

We’ll keep our ears to the ground on May 28 for anything coming out of San Francisco, but right now it doesn’t seem like it’s super consumer focused.
