Chromecast in the Woods - 01

Time flies when you’re a $35 streaming dongle. Google’s Chromecast, the company’s little thumbstick that connects directly to your TV’s HDMI port, celebrated its first year of existence on Thursday. And as part of those celebrations, Google is offering Chromecast owners a nice little perk: a 90-day subscription to Google’s terrific All Access streaming music service. The service itself is typically about $9.99 per month (unless you snagged the early-bird special).

The promotion is running through Sept. 30, so as long as you purchase and set up your Chromecast by then, you’re eligible. There is a catch, however. The All Access offer isn’t available to anyone who has previously subscribed to All Access, which includes paid and free trial customers. So if you’ve taken advantage of a promotion in the past, or subscribed to All Access only to cancel a month later, you’re ineligible.

If you do decide to take advantage of the offer, once the 90 days are up you’ll be on the hook for the $9.99 a month subscription cost. Otherwise, you’ll need to cancel as the 90-day trial expires.
