Either this is in response to fan backlash or it was the plan all along. Either way, Disney hasn’t handled the situation all that well. But that won’t even matter when the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits the Internet on Friday. The official Star Wars Twitter account on Tuesday said the teaser will premiere on iTunes on Black Friday—the same day it’s going to run in front of movies in select locations to kick off the weekend.
Before, the trailer was confirmed to run at a handful of select theaters across the U.S. That later changed to a few dozen. Now the tune has changed yet again. Immediately after hearing the news, many fans voiced their disappointment over the decision to confine it to only a few select markets. But, hey, the good news is that you’ll be able to catch the trailer from the comfort of your own home. It isn’t clear exactly when the teaser will hit, but you’ll probably know when it does because the Internet will implode in on itself.
We’ll let you know as soon as it’s available to watch. After all the drama surrounding this single trailer, let’s hope it doesn’t disappoint.
The Force is with you on #BlackFriday when #TheForceAwakens teaser hits @iTunesTrailers.
