It’s not much, but Marvel has finally unveiled the very first teaser footage for Ant-Man. The video is actually a pre-cursor to the first full teaser set to premiere with Agent Carter on Jan. 6. I know, I know: a teaser for a teaser, but we’re excited nonetheless.
There’s a lot of mystery and intrigue around the film; Paul Rudd doesn’t fit the typical superhero mold, though Ant-Man isn’t your typical superhero. (This “human-sized” look at Ant-Man follows an “ant-sized” stunt Marvel pulled yesterday; cue Zoolander jokes.)
Ant-Man will follow Scott Lang / Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) as he attempts to redeem himself from a life of petty theft with his newfound abilities to shrink in size but increase in strength. Michael Douglas (Dr. Hank Pym), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne) and Corey Stoll (Yellowjacket) also star.
Ant-Man is set to hit theaters on July 17, 2015, and will be Marvel’s last film before Phase Three of its cinematic universe kicks off with Captain America: Civil War in 2016.
