Samsung has some cutting edge devices on the market today, but can you imagine what they would be like if they worked with Tony Stark of the Avengers on some concepts? Well, we found this week at CES 2015.
The first official night of CES is always jam packed with cocktail parties and events, but once I heard that Samsung was hosting an event involving something to do with Marvel and, more specifically, Avengers: Age of Ultron, I knew where I was heading.
The event was low-key, and while most people spent the evening mingling and discussing the industry at large, I was of course focused on the life-sized Marvel statues, cardboard cutouts of the heroes from the upcoming second Avengers film and the small selection of props from said film.
While most companies do product placements in silly ways in films (say, Subway in the remake of Red Dawn), it appears that Samsung took a bit more of a hands-on approach with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While we will see current devices such as the Galaxy Note Edge in the film, we will also see some devices that do not yet exist in the real world. From Tony Stark’s transparent smartphone to a smartwatch unlike any other we’ve seen, these concepts are all slick and look like they would fit perfectly in the world of Iron Man.
You’ll be able to see all of these devices on the big screen when Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters in the U.S. on May 1, 2015. For now, enjoy the gallery we shot at the event.
