Sony has announced that POWERS, a brand new 10 episode show, will premiere on the PlayStation Network on March 10, 2015. That date marks the launch of the first three episodes of the show, and a new episode will follow every Tuesday after that on the PlayStation Store.
I don’t know if you readers know this about me, but there was a time when I read a whole lot of comic books. In fact, I worked in freelance for a stint reviewing books and interviewing writers and artists on a weekly basis. That makes me a super nerd, not that I care.
Anyways, one of my favorite series from a while back was POWERS, written by the often long-winded in comic dialogue Brian Michael Bendis. POWERS is a crime noir bit of comic storytelling set in a universe with superheroes and super powers. At E3 last year, Sony took time during its presentation to put Bendis out on stage in order to announce their first original live-action series specifically for the PlayStation Network. That series, of course, was POWERS.
So, the first episode will be available to stream for free for everyone beginning on March 10. The other episodes will cost money. However, if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, the entire POWERS show will be free with your membership fee. So, “free,” I suppose.
Who plans on watching this thing?
