The movies leaving Netflix in March will make you weep

Spring is a season of renewal, a time when flowers bloom and people start gearing up for summer. You’d think I’d be happy to ring in the new season, but after seeing the movies leaving Netflix’s library next month, I’m not so sure I want February to be over. And I thought this month was bad.

The full list of movies coming/going to and from the service is out, and the incoming quality of content is nowhere near what’s leaving. It almost isn’t fair—who approved this? Who derives pleasure from my pain? This March is going to be rough.

I’m going to start off with the list of movies that are scheduled to leave, because the list of movies being added is uneventful and boring and it just makes me shake my head in disappointment. Among the many, many, many terrific films leaving Netflix in March, you have 3 Ninjas: Kick Back, Air Bud, Anaconda, Arachnophobia, Cool Runnings, Dumb and Dumber, Freaky Friday, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

Bad, right? I have even more bad news. Also leaving Netflix is Saving Silverman, Seven, The Graduate, The Grey, and a number of amazing Cartoon Network shows, including Adventure Time: Season 1-4, Ed, Edd ’n’ Eddy: Season 3-4 and Regular Show: Season 1-4. This was my reaction after seeing the news. I just want to crawl up into a ball and never leave my house again.

There are a few consolations, I suppose. The Brothers Grimm is being added, as is the complete series of 3rd Rock From the Sun. But, really, that’s about it. Netflix is essentially punching us in the gut and taking our lunch money. Thanks, Netflix. With only a few days left in February, now’s the perfect time to binge watch the outgoing content. Because next month is going to be a sad, lonely, upsetting wasteland.

I know spring is supposed to be a month of cleansing, but this is brutal. Hopefully Netflix works out the appropriate deals to bring some of this content back, because the quality leaving the service is hugely disproportionate to what’s being added.
