Tired of The LEGO Movie? Hope not, because yet another spinoff has been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, and it’s being called The Billion Brick Race.
The Billion Brick Race will make it the fifth movie in The LEGO Movie universe, joining The LEGO Movie, Ninjago (2016), The LEGO Batman Movie (2017), and The LEGO Movie 2 (2018). No date has been attached just yet, but it’s unlikely the film will be saved until 2019; hopefully we’ll see it sooner rather than later.
Jason Segel (I Love You, Man) and Drew Pearce (writer of Iron Man 3) are involved, so some good talent has been snatched up. The LEGO Movie was enormously successful for Warner Bros., so it’s no surprise to hear yet another LEGO film is on the way. No real plot details were revealed, which means we’re only left to speculate based on the title. I’m all out of guesses, so perhaps you have some ideas of what The Billion Brick Race might be about.
Segel was involved in the kid-oriented Muppets film, and had his hand in Mission Impossible 5, and he’s also working on the new Ghostbusters movie. Based on that, The Billion Brick Race is in some good hands. Hopefully we’ll get more info has the months roll on.
