I know, I know: this teaser trailer is pretty much worthless and doesn’t really show us much at all. But it does set the stage for an even bigger reveal coming next week—and it’s nice to see the batsuit again.
Director Zack Snyder dropped a teaser for a teaser, saying a bigger reveal will come on April 20 in IMAX. It’s unclear if the official trailer will also be available to watch online, but, I mean, come on, this is the Internet we’re talking about. If you’re really desperate to be one of the first to catch the special teaser next week, you can actually RSVP to see it at an IMAX theater near you. (I signed up, why not?)
We’ve already seen Ben Affleck in the batsuit, so actually seeing it is nothing new. It is, however, a more detailed look, and I’m sure fans will be scrutinizing and inspecting every last detail of the two or three second glimpse. It looks a lot more weathered and gritty than I would have expected. We also get a look at Superman’s suit, but there doesn’t seem to be any major changes.
With Age of Ultron coming May 1, and the Star Wars Celebration kicking off in California, it’s no surprise to see Snyder beginning to hype up a big Batman v Superman reveal. Let’s just hope what people see on Monday is a little more exciting than what’s being shown off right now. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
