Here it is, the moment we’ve all been waiting for. After releasing a pretty lengthy and revealing teaser late last year, a fresh trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released on Thursday. In a word: spectacular. But we have many more feels than just a single word. Today is a good day.
The trailer was unveiled at the Star Wars Celebration going on in Anaheim, and it was the perfect way to serve diehard fans. After Age of Ultron, The Force Awakens is probably the most anticipated film of 2015, and when you think about it, its release (Dec. 18, 2015) isn’t that far away.
If you’ve been keeping up with all the latest Star Wars rumors, today’s trailer should really come as no surprise; it was pretty much in line with the details that leaked. And that’s OK, because reading about it and actually seeing it in action is completely different. We can still revel and admire the work that’s being done.
I first watched Star Wars on laserdisc back in the 80s, which tells you how nerdy my parents were and how far back my love for the films goes. Seeing it come back, and in such a dazzling way, is quite the delight.
I won’t describe the trailer scene by scene (though maybe we’ll do a breakdown later). Instead, just watch it for yourself—again, and again, and again, and again.
Superman v Batman who? Exactly.
“The Force is strong in my family. My father has it. I have it. My sister has it. You have that power, too.”
