Fantastic Four gets two fresh trailers ahead of August release

20th Century Fox has released two new trailers for its upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. The first, which was shown off at Comic-Con, gives us a longer look at Dr. Doom, who has a wonderfully gravelly voice that’s ominous and frightening. We also get a much more thorough look at the individual Fantastic Four members—and we get to hear The Thing speak, which is a little jarring and unexpected.

This is a complete origin story, which you can get the basis for in the two trailers. After traveling to another universe, their physical forms are altered in amazing ways. But they soon realize that they need to harness their new powers for good in order to save humanity from the end of the world, and the beginning of Dr. Doom’s. The trailers are essentially the same, with some added emphasis on Reed Richards as a young wizkid scientist.

The release date for Fantastic Four is fast approaching. Although the first two movies were relatively successful at the box office, they were never looked upon by critics or fans in a favorable light. This is the chance to atone for that, while also opening up the possibility for future Fantastic Four movies.

Fantastic Four is being directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle) and stars Miles Teller (Mr. Fantastic), Kate Mara (The Invisible Woman), Michael B. Jordan (The Human Torch) and Jamie Bell (The Thing). It comes out on Aug. 7, 2015.
