We saw stills earlier this week, and now we have a video teaser of the deleted scenes from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I know, I know, a teaser for deleted scenes—lame! But when you release one of the biggest films ever, you sure as heck want people to know the home release will soon be available to purchase.
Hitting digital HD on April 1 and DVD and Blu-ray on April 5, the extra scenes will include “Finn and the Villager,” “Jakku Message,” “X-Wings Prepare for Lightspeed,” “Kylo Searches The Falcon,” “Snow Speeder Chase,” and “Finn Will Be Fine.” There’s also an additional scene titled “Tunnel Standoff,” which is only included with the digital release.
On their own, the titles basically sound like a summary of the entire film. Although they weren’t essential to the plot, J.J. Abrams has already explained that these scenes were meant to give characters more depth. Unfortunately, they had to be cut for time and pacing.
