See full gallery on TechnoBuffaloTom Cruise in a Mummy movie? Who would’ve thunk it? The action super-human is set to star in the upcoming reboot and the first pictures from the film’s set have hit the web. The movie, which doesn’t yet have a title, is going to be part of a larger shared universe from Universal, one that also includes Dracula, Wolf Man, Van Helsing, and more. Hey, that doesn’t sound half bad.
The first set of pictures features Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis, both of whom are standing around and otherwise looking as worried as possible. Not pictured is Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service), who is playing the film’s villain.
Cruise apparently plays a former special forces officer while Wallis plays a scientist. This movie is being set in present day, making it much different from the original Mummy trilogy, which in my opinion is underrated.
The Untitled Mummy reboot is currently scheduled for a June 9, 2017, release.
