Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is Disney’s first crack at getting the extended universe of Star Wars up on the silverscreen. Starting this December, fans will learn the new story of how the rebels managed to secure plans for the first Death Star.
That’s right, this story exists before the attack on the first Death Star in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. Before Luke knows the deal with Leia, before Kylo’s story and after all those shenannigans with the likes of Qui-Gon Jinn.
The trailer looks fantastic, though it’s definitely under-stated when compared to what we saw during the run up to The Force Awakens. Hopefully Rogue One manages to wow the world in the same way J.J. Abrams’ first spin with Star Wars did.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is slated for a theatrical release in December 2016.
