Clik here to view.There has been a lot of advancements in technology lately that are beginning to make me think we are indeed living in the future as seen by futurists in the 1950s and 60s.
We’re living in a time where a pizza printer may become a reality. Elon Musk is discussing travelling by pneumatic tube. 3D printers are coming down in price enough that nearly anyone can afford them. While the above film from the Philco-Ford Company definitely missed the mark on a lot of things, it does feel like we’re moving into this world at long last. Although they took a definite left turn at the hexagon-shaped homes with expandable pods, but hey, they sure came pretty close on the computers.
We are living in a wondrous time to be sure, and it looks to only be getting more amazing by the moment. Will we get to a point where computers run everything in our home for us? Well, Microsoft sure seems to want to head that direction, with a gaming console no less.
Should we let technology take over this much of our lives? Well, that’s for each individual to decide, but this short film sure makes it look intriguing.
Now, can someone explain to me the dire sounding music? It felt like while they were on the beach they were going to find the Statue of Liberty head from the original Planet of the Apes at any moment around the corner.
