The first Ghostbusters trailer, while fun, left a lot of longtime fans confused by what the new movie was trying to say. By acknowledging the original movie, it seemed like the new film was trying to tell audiences it was a sequel set decades after the first. We know, however, that Paul Feig’s new take is actually a reboot, which means what happened in the 1984 original technically never occurred.
Well, a brand new trailer has been released, and it appears to be much more focused than the one we saw at the beginning of March. It’s a lot funnier, too, and gives us a much better look at all of the Ghostbusting the team will do when things really hit the fan.
In addition to seeing Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig flex their comedic muscles, we also get a pretty fun look at Chris Hemsworth in a different role. Instead of a manly action hero, he’s a bumbling buffoon who desperately wants to be part of the crew. But as the trailer suggests, he bites off much more than he can chew.
Ghostbusters is set for a July 15, 2016 release.
