Angry Birds scores a win at the box office

For the first time in a while, Disney did not take the top spot at the box office this weekend.

1. The Angry Birds Movie

While the mobile games may be fading in popularity, The Angry Birds Movie had a decent opening weekend at the box office. The film won the weekend with $39M and stands at $82M globally off of a $75M budget.

2. Captain America: Civil War

Captain America: Civil War is still going strong and landed in second place this weekend with $33.11M. It now stands at $347.39M in the U.S. Globally it has crashed through the billion dollar barrier, the third Marvel film to do so.

3. Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising

Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising received fairly strong reviews, but it came in with $21.79M, well below the opening weekend of the original film which took in $49M in 2014.

4. The Nice Guys

The Nice Guys took in $11.27M to come in fourth place in its opening weekend.

5. The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book is holding on and took in $11M to land in fifth place. It stands at $857.69M globally off of a $175M budget.
