Director Zack Snyder has already revealed how Robin dies in the DC Cinematic Universe, and now we might have further confirmation of the character’s identity.
While doing a Facebook Live interview last week, a tour guide for the new DC Universe: The Exhibit casually revealed the tattered costume on display at Batman’s man cave was worn by none other than Jason Todd. (For what it’s worth, the video linked to by CinemaBlend has been pulled.)
For longtime Batman fans, this isn’t exactly a huge surprise since Todd was beaten to death by Joker in the comics. While we already assumed the suit was worn by Todd, the tour guide’s off-hand comment confirms our suspicions, and could provide clues for what’s to come down the road.
For one thing, we’ve heard some big rumors about what to expect from Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie, and hearing the suit was worn by Todd could indicate we might see a key character down the road. Following Todd’s death, he later reappears as Red Hood, often coming to blows with Batman as he worked to become Gotham’s most feared crime lord.
In addition to the possibility of Red Hood, it might also mean Dick Grayson, who was the first Robin in the comics, is out there somewhere as Nightwing. Will both characters appear in the upcoming Batman movie? You can certainly make the argument.
Based on rumors we’ve heard about the solo Batman flick, the dark knight is going to need all the help he can get.
