People have been clamoring for Marvel Studios to bring the Planet Hulk storyline to life, and it sounds like that’ll be the inspiration for Thor: Ragnarok. A report from JoBlo claims Ragnarok will tell a version of that story and find Hulk becoming a galactic gladiator on a distant planet.

Potential spoilers are ahead.

JoBlo says Hulk will be fighting as a gladiator on behalf of the Grandmaster, who is being played by Jeff Goldblum. In the comics, Hulk lands on a planet called Sakaar, where he’s fixed with an obedience disk and essentially forced to fight as a gladiator for the amusement of the Red King.

Eventually, Hulk’s obedience disk is broken and he returns to Earth, which sparks the World War Hulk storyline. It’s highly unlikely Marvel will take it that far, but it sounds like we will indeed see gladiator Hulk. According to previous rumors, Thor will also be a gladiator, and eventually come up against Hulk, but before they fight to the death, Thor will break Hulk’s obedience disk.

The part about JoBlo’s report that stands out is the fact that Hulk will apparently wear a different outfit in Ragnarok, making it the first time he’ll have a new look in the MCU. JoBlo says that Thor will look different as well, sporting a shaved head for a portion of the movie.

“In terms of the story, there’s still much in the air, but the gist of Thor’s mission in the film is that he needs to find the ultimate weapon to stop Ragnarok and reset the universe,” JoBlo said.

According to actor Mark Ruffalo, who plays Bruce Banner/Hulk, the film’s tone will be more like a buddy road movie. Based on what we’ve heard, it’s shaping up to be one of the more exciting installments in the MCU.

Thor: Ragnarok is currently scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
