There’s been an endless amount of trailers, TV spots, and character exposés. Now, just a few weeks from the movie’s release, the first official Suicide Squad clip has been revealed. In it, the character of June Moore (Cara Delevingne) shows off the evil force of Enchantress consuming her body.
Although the clip would appear to suggest Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) has recruited Enchantress to be part of the Suicide Squad, the powerful sorceress isn’t actually a member of the team. On the contrary, she’ll actually be one of the first targets of the team when they spring into action.
Story-wise, the clip doesn’t reveal much, but seeing her transform is pretty cool. Enchantress doesn’t look very friendly, that’s for sure.
“She’s walked this Earth for a very long time and will likely be here when we’re long gone,” Waller explains. Waller goes on to say that Enchantress is capable of some “pretty incredible things.”
Of course, the clip ends just before it gets really good, but it’s still a nice taste of what the tone of the film will be like.
Suicide Squad hits theaters on Aug. 5, 2016.
