Darth Vader won’t just be in this year’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. At Star Wars Celebration Europe this past weekend, it was revealed that David S. Goyer, who is a prominent screen writer in Hollywood, will create a VR experience focused on the Sith Lord. The project is being done with the help from folks at Industrial Light and Magic.
The experience will apparently feature a persistent world that features day/night cycles and is affected by what choices the player makes. Here’s what Goyer had to say:
When we looked at all the characters, places, and worlds in the Star Wars universe available to us, we asked ourselves, ‘What haven’t we seen before? Who are we curious about? Darth Vader is the perfect ambassador to usher us into the Star Wars VR universe.
ILMxLAB VR previously made Trials on Tatooine (out today on SteamVR), which put participants on the two-sunned planet and tasked them with fighting off waves of Stormtroopers. Because very few details are known at this point, it’ll probably be a while before the experience comes out. For now, fans can get a glimpse of Darth Vader in Rogue One when the movie comes out this December.
