Luke Cage is an angry, conflicted man in the latest teaser from Netflix, which shows the bullet-proof superhero effortlessly taking out a gang of baddies. It’s been months since we last saw the character, played again by Mike Colter, and it was worth the wait.
Set to the background music of Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “I Like It Raw,” Netflix gives us a really great look at the kind of action fans can expect from the upcoming show. Cage has an assured swagger and toughness to him we didn’t get to see when he was in Jessica Jones, and now that he’s in his own show, we’ll get to learn much more about his past.

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and breakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive who attempts to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But soon he is pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city—forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
It sounds like Colter’s Cage will have a lot of demons to deal with by the time we see him again this fall. He wasn’t front and center in last year’s Jessica Jones but it’s finally time for the former convict to save New York City his way.
Luke Cage hits Netflix on Sept. 30.
