Last week at Comic-Con, Marvel showed off a ton of footage from its upcoming movies to fans in Hall H, and by all accounts Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok stole the show. What’s funny is that Waititi didn’t actually show off any video from the movie, but a mockumentary about what Thor has been doing since we last saw him in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
At one point in the video, Thor shows off a conspiracy wall for the Infinity Stones, one part of which contains information about Thanos. Thor’s unprecedented investigative talent reveals a few key details about the supervillain: Thanos is purple, he has a magic glove, and he doesn’t like standing up. Sounds about right.
Obviously, the whole thing is a joke, but it’s great to see that Waititi’s patented humor, which is fully on display in What We Do in the Shadows, is still intact. If we were to get nitpicky, the drawing isn’t 100 percent true-to-life; Thor forgot to include the Time Stone! Come on, Thor, you’re better than that.
Waititi posted another funny image from the Thor: Ragnarok set about three weeks ago of the Norse god’s hammer, Mjölnir, sitting on a toilet. “Thanks a lot dude,” the photo’s caption reads.
